I just returned from my first meeting at the Chekhov center. I've been in Moscow for about a month now sightseeing but still getting a little restless wandering the streets of Moscow armed with my camera and a very limited knowledge of Russian.
With my very limited knowledge or Russian meeting new people is at the least.. difficult. But, at your meeting I felt welcome and appreciated within minuets of my arrival. I had a wonderful time speaking with new people and was surprised how quickly the time went.
My only suggestion ( a small one ).. and perhaps you do it most times.. would be for someone to bring a small sign saying something like 'English Conversation Club' and hang it from the railing outside the door. Only to make it a little more easy for people such as myself that are staying in Russia a short time and have not learned to read Russian yet..
