Dear friends!
Due to such a heat we've got a permission to consume beer at Chekhov Hall. So starting this Sunday and untill the end of the heat we serve beer in the bar of Chekhov Hall!
I want to wish a Happy Independence Day to all Americans and would like to present a program for this weekend.
This Saturday Jonathan invites everybody to his party at “Sorry, Babushka”. He promises a good DJ of r’n’b and salsa music. The party starts at 7 pm, free entrance.
This Sunday we invite you to celebrate Independence Day at Moscow English Conversation Club at Chekhov Cultural Center. There will be free beer and wine. Neil Geitz will give a talk and performance.

Starting THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 25TH, our club is moving its Friday Parties to "Sorry, Babushka!" which is located right near metro Kitai-Gorod, at Slavyanskaya Ploschad 2/1.
The party officially starts at 7:00 pm, but we suggest you come early and enjoy all of Happy Hour.
We'll have the usual Trivia Contest plus some other games and amusements, and there'll be a DJ starting at 9:00 pm playing 80s remixes.
We resumed the Italian section in MECC. Everyone who wants to practice Italian is welcome every Sunday at our regular time.
Harvard Theatre in cooperation with MXAT trainee theatre-studio present the play <"Alice in Wonderland".
You can see it on the 7, 11, 12 and 25 of March at Kamergerski per, 3A at 7 pm.

From October the entrance fee will be 200 rub.
From May 20th, we start a campaign against stowaways. Every stowaway caught will have to pay double entrance fee.
The lecture by Hélène Ewald, French Stereotypes: What Do You Really Know About France? given in MECC, is available as a .wav file (30M).
Starting from January 25th, 2009, smoking in the Chekhov Center is not allowed.
In the MECC library you can take a unique MP3 audio-collection in English for copying, for free.
The collection includes:
- Speeches of American Presidents;
- Speeches and interviews of celebrities;
- Stories about Sherlock Holmes;
- Shakespeare’s sonnets;
- Records of broadcasts;
- Lectures on different subjects
+ Speeches in French
All the items are in one disc (600 Mb). Also, if you want to have an mp3 collection of any English-singing band on a CD, ask Volodya, and he will bring it to you next time—for free.
